The world is not kind to blemish and imperfection. But you knew that didn't you Michael? Being the perfectionist and artist you were, you continued to see the face in the mirror that the people you loved and trusted as a child, teased and ridiculed you about. The big nose, the problem skin, the Vitaligo. So you kept changing your face. You always empathized with the downtrodden, disabled and disfigured-- you were closer to them than any of us knew. You hid it from the world so well.

You left and took me with you
Every fiber of my being;
I somehow fight the emptiness,
The moments in between.

You left and took me with you
Yet I still can't understand;
Your warming breath upon my cheek,
The grasp of your loving hands.

You left and took me with you,
With embracing sweet romance;
The songs comprised by angels,
The magic and the dance.

But, still there's the me I cannot find;
Filled with pain and sorrow,
It's the me you left behind.

I guess it hast to be ok;
For the me that you took with you,
God meant for you, anyway♥

    thank you so much for your beautiful poem. Your words echo what I experience in my own heart. Thank you for putting words to what I am feeling and couldn't express. It is a comfort to know that others who love and appreciate Michael are feeling the same heartbreak, even after almost 3 years since he left us. God bless you.
